The Farmington Public Schools Board of Education regular meeting was held October 6, 2026. The board approved a storm drainage facility maintenance agreement with the City of Farmington Hills for the pretreatment facility at the district’s facilities maintenance building. The district retains ownership and maintenance responsibility; the city may inspect and, after written warnings, arrange repairs and bill the district if it fails to maintain the system. The board approved the agreement by motion, with no expected cost if the district maintains the facility. The project was scheduled to begin the next morning and take approximately two to three weeks.
The superintendent presented a proposed $171 million bond for the November 3 ballot, structured in four series and described as having no increase to the current millage rate. If approved, it would fund improvements across all 17 school buildings, including learning spaces and media centers, accessibility, outdoor areas, athletics, and building infrastructure; no bond vote occurred at this meeting. The board also discussed opting in to approximately $1.6 million in state 31AA safety and mental-health funding for 2026–27, including support for visitor-management and staff alert systems and student mental-health services. A resolution on that funding is scheduled for action at a future meeting; no vote was taken on it.
