The Ascension Parish Finance Committee met October 6, 2026. The committee removed a proposed agreement with for-profit youth sports provider I9 from the agenda for a later presentation. Discussion covered its proposed facility use, registration fees, and a 10% revenue share to the parish; no agreement was approved. A representative of Louisiana Force raised concerns about potential effects on field access while the club negotiates a separate agreement with the parish. The committee also approved a $30,000 economic-development agreement for a rodeo at Lamar Dixon Expo Center, a library history-research agreement capped at $49,999 for 2027, a Gonzales waterline relocation agreement, and a three-year fire-protection agreement with annual payments of $120,000.

The committee approved multiple contract renewals and project actions, including temporary staffing with Laughton Industrial Services (not to exceed $125,000), disaster-recovery grant and project management with AllSouth Consulting Engineers (not to exceed $395,000), and HVAC services at Lamar Dixon (not to exceed $100,000). It selected Corporate Mechanical Contractors for a building-automation replacement project and approved a $320,600 bid for the Lamar Dixon gymnasium roof. It allocated $6.7 million in transportation impact-fee funding across road projects, approved change orders of $137,972 for the Burrow Road/Germany Road roundabout and $72,550.36 for Roddy Road widening, and approved a $10,615 courthouse-roof change order. Other actions included selecting GEC for an independent review of the LA 3127 extension and WSP USA for water-treatment-plant planning and construction, plus renewals for traffic-impact-analysis, surveying, utility-engineering, and legal services. Motions were generally followed by no objections. The committee received an audit-findings update and reported no new government positions added in September.
