The Sweetwater County Board of County Commissioners’ regular meeting on October 6, 2026, approved several procurement actions. The board awarded Von’s Plumbing & Heating the White Mountain Library HVAC upgrade contract for $2,221,450; the chair recused himself because of his employment with the vendor. Commissioners noted the project exceeded available capital funding and assigned Commissioners Tolman and Slaughter to work with staff on funding options ahead of a budget amendment. The board also approved a $33,795 change order for design work on the detention center mezzanine security barrier project. Six vehicle bids were awarded: Griner Ford received three awards totaling $169,345 for county and sheriff’s vehicles; Fremont Motors received awards of $42,920 for a police SUV and $73,331 for a Ram 5500 chassis; and Fremont Chrysler received a $45,784 library minivan award. The awards passed by votes recorded as unanimous. The consent agenda, including FY2027 human-service agreements with Youth Home Inc. and the Sweetwater County Historical Museum, was also approved.

Commissioners reported that the Combined Communications agency had moved forward with a $38,000 Aurelian contract for handling non-emergency calls; this was reported as an agency action, not a procurement vote at this meeting. Public Works reported that RFPs for design of two bridges on County Road 51 were expected later in the week, and discussed ongoing courthouse, detention-center, and other facility projects. The board also approved a 2% cost-of-living adjustment for eligible county employees, the library, and the museum, as well as additional holiday benefits. No additional vendor selections or contract awards were identified in those discussions.
