The City of North Miami Special Magistrate code-enforcement hearing was held October 7, 2026. No procurement activity was identified: the hearing involved property-code violations and compliance orders, not contract awards, vendor selections, or purchasing decisions. The magistrate continued several cases to allow permit or inspection work to proceed, including a fence permit case for 30 days and a refrigerant-line case for 60 days; one of the two refrigerant-line matters was reported compliant. The magistrate ratified a $350-per-day fine retroactive to December 2025 in the R&M Global Investments case and ratified $250-per-day fines retroactive to August 13, 2026, in two Keystone Residential Development cases involving unpermitted work and an unsafe structure.
Other rulings included 30-day deadlines to obtain variances or remove recreational vehicles, with an officer authorized to verify that no one was living in one RV; a 30-day compliance period for a chicken-related violation; and 30-day deadlines for several cases involving permits, property maintenance, and business licensing. For two business-license cases, the magistrate set a $150-per-day fine in each case if violations were not resolved by the deadline. The hearing also addressed the city’s stated $100 cost assessment per case. These were enforcement rulings and fines, not procurement expenditures.
