The Chula Vista Elementary School District’s October 7, 2026 Lauderbach modernization meeting covered design, construction phasing, and school safety. Plans include modernizing 13 buildings with interior finishes and roof work, adding a single-story four-classroom TK/kindergarten building, playground and outdoor-learning areas, additional parking, and IT upgrades including IDF cabinets and CAT 6A cabling. The district said plans were undergoing Division of the State Architect review; bidding was expected to follow, with the project anticipated to go to the Board for approval after selection of the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.
