The Chula Vista Elementary School District’s Palomar Modernization Meeting, held October 8, 2026, reviewed proposed campus renovations and plans to keep students on site during construction. The project includes classroom finishes and furnishings, remodeled restrooms and administrative offices, a new single-story kindergarten building, playground and shade improvements, landscaping, a ramp connecting the upper and lower campus, and parking and student drop-off/pick-up safety upgrades. The district described using eight portable classrooms during construction, with separate contractor access and temporary fencing; staff will receive moving boxes and labels, and district custodial staff will handle relocation.
