RBUSD Board Meeting 10/06/2026

At its October 6, 2026 regular meeting, the Redondo Beach Unified School District Board approved a budget adjustment to Capital Facilities Fund 20.50 and Building Fund 21.0 to account for the technology portion of the bond financing through NWN. The Board also approved a bid award to the low bidder, PCW Contracting Services, for demolition of the Redondo Union High School Memorial Field snack locker/building. Staff reported that three bids were received; temporary structures are planned for the spring baseball season, with a new modular building anticipated the following year. No dollar amounts were provided for these items.

The Board approved the 2026–27 classified employee benefit rates, with health-plan increases addressed through the negotiated district and employee contributions; dental and vision premiums were unchanged. A first reading of revised technology-use policy and regulations emphasized instructional purpose, privacy review, and ongoing audits of educational software. Staff said software is reviewed quarterly, with alignment checks generally conducted annually or when contracts come up for renewal; this was presented for discussion, not final adoption. The Board also received a presentation on student screen-time practices and purposeful technology use.
