The regular Uintah County Commission meeting on October 6, 2026, approved the warrants, including a reported $94,000 annual payment to the Utah Association of Counties (UAC) for commercial appraisals and a $500,000 payment to the Uinta Care Center from trust-fund interest. The commission also ratified a UAC commercial property assessment services agreement for defending commercial assessment appeals at $150 per hour, with travel expenses capped at $5,000. The county said it needed the service after losing its commercial appraiser and being unable to hire a replacement; the work covers six appeals.

The commission approved an airport-related task order for the Vernal Regional Airport terminal project. Airport staff described a proposed expansion of about 6,000 square feet, with preliminary funding of $501,562 and an overall project expected to cost just under $1 million. The FAA share for this funding year is 95%, with a 5% local share; the airport manager said the action was not a final commitment of project funds. The task order referenced Lochner Engineering, which the manager noted had been acquired by Aegis. Other actions included approval of tax matters and indigent abatements, dismissal of four commercial property appeals for failure to provide requested information, and an administrative-manual definition update for educational facilities. The commission also entered closed session to discuss pending or reasonably imminent litigation.
