The O’Fallon Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met on July 14, 2026. Parks staff reported on staffing shortages, maintenance, and seasonal events. A replacement slide for Sports Park arrived damaged despite being covered by warranty, and staff are working with the vendor for a replacement. Other maintenance items included irrigation repairs and playground safety tiles; no related purchasing approvals or spending motions were reported.

An engineering project manager presented updates on three shared-use path projects. The completed Twin Island Trailhead/Technology Drive project cost about $3.87 million, including approximately $2.2 million in MoDOT construction costs and $1.7 million in city construction costs; about $539,000 in federal TAP funding supported design expenses. The Bluebird Meadow-to-Sports Park path has an estimated construction cost of $4.9 million and has not yet been bid; the city and St. Charles County are discussing a possible 50/50 split of remaining costs, with an estimated $1.289 million share each. The Highway N path is estimated at $1.4 million and was recommended for 2026 federal funding, with construction anticipated in 2028. Design firms have been secured for project work, but no contract awards, bids, or spending votes were made at this meeting.
