The O’Fallon Cultural Arts Commission’s October meeting, hosted by OFallonTV on October 2, 2026, included updates on several city projects and events. For the theater renovation, staff said funding is available and encumbered, but plans are still being finalized and must go through engineering review before construction begins. A general contractor is expected to use its own subcontractors, which may limit separate bids for specific work. Staff estimated construction could take about 2.5–3 months once underway, while noting the schedule remains uncertain. No contract award, budget amount, or procurement vote was reported. The commission also reviewed a national call for permanent artwork for O’Fallon roundabouts: 69 submissions were received, and staff plans to narrow the pool and conduct a jury process before the end of the year. The next planned installation is at Tom Ginnever Avenue in Cool Springs; a future Main Street roundabout may also draw from the artist pool. No artist or sculpture was selected at this meeting, and no project cost was stated.
Tourism and Festivals reported that the new Holiday Sip and Shop will be held November 21 at the Civic Center, with 33 applications received for 29 booth spaces at $55 each; applications were still under review. The Tree Lighting is planned for November 18, with food vendors but a greater focus on a family event than a marketplace. Commissioners also discussed the successful Fall Into the Arts event and possible ways to expand or promote it in future years. Votes approved the agenda and prior minutes and adjourned the meeting; no procurement-related vote or spending authorization was taken.
