The O’Fallon Public Works Advisory Committee met July 15, 2026, and received updates on water, wastewater, and road construction projects. The largest utility project is an approximately $10 million water-plant upgrade, now under construction; chemical-feed improvements at two wells are also underway, while other upgrades remain in design. Wastewater work includes the grit-system project in construction and a planned sludge-dewatering procurement: the city is piloting equipment from Alfa Laval, with Centrisys, GEA, and Flottweg tests to follow, and expects to issue a bid later this year for construction next year. Staff said rebuilding the existing belt filter press is estimated at about $500,000, compared with roughly $1 million for a new unit. A North Lift Station concept is estimated at $2.6 million and remains in design; a wastewater-treatment-plant improvement project is awaiting funding in a future budget year.
For roads, Main Street Phase 3 is out for bid, with bids due August 12; staff will submit bids to MoDOT and the City Council for approval, with construction anticipated to begin in October and last about nine months. The North Cool Springs roundabout is pending MoDOT approvals, with bidding targeted for September. The committee also discussed construction schedules, detours, and access impacts. No contract awards or project-specific spending approvals were reported. The committee approved the agenda, June meeting minutes, and the May public works and engineering monthly reports; the transcript does not specify vote counts.
