The City of O’Fallon Parks and Recreation Advisory Board met on August 11, 2026. Staff reported park maintenance work, including repairs to a stadium water main and sidewalks, repairs to traffic-calming dips at Sports Park, and replacement of a failed variable-frequency drive (VFD) for the park’s irrigation system. During the ongoing budget season, board members discussed whether to budget for spare VFDs to reduce downtime; staff noted units can cost about $6,000–$6,500 each and require a contractor to install and program. A member volunteered to draft a memo for the board to consider at its next meeting and potentially forward to City Council. No spending motion, contract award, or procurement approval was recorded.

Other capital and facility topics included a planned track resurfacing shutdown at the Renaud Center from September 7–13, installation of a dance floor at Civic Park this fall, and a question about whether additional Civic Park restrooms are in the five-year capital plan; staff said they would check. Reports also covered recreation and event participation and revenues, including outdoor concessions, tournaments, and Jammin’ at the Parks. The board approved the agenda; no other procurement decisions were identified.
