At its July 23, 2026 meeting, the WSD Board of Education heard a presentation on the proposed Prop O bond and district facility needs. The district described $309 million in identified critical facility needs and projected $42–$92 million in total capital funds over the next five years. Proposed work includes a $65 million rebuild of Heritage Elementary, a $65 million renovation of Holt, and accessibility improvements at West Middle. Staff presented the bond as a phased, four-year plan; if Prop O passes in the August 4 election, Heritage work could begin the following summer, with the building project expected to be completed in 2030. The presentation said the plan would not change property tax rates and that future phases would be brought to the community later. A public commenter questioned the scale of the proposed bond and the district’s existing debt. No contract awards, bids, or vendor selections were identified.
The board also approved the CSIP update and adopted policies addressing student use of e-bikes, motorized scooters, and other non-licensed vehicles, citing campus safety and property damage concerns. The meeting included routine approvals of the open-session agenda and consent agenda. These actions did not include a specific procurement or spending authorization.
