🏗️ Construction & Infrastructure 🚨 Public Safety Physical Infrastructure Grants & Funding

The St. Francois County Commission meeting was held July 21, 2026. Commissioners opened three bids for road-and-bridge overlays and took them under advisement, with results expected the following week; no award was made. They approved a $10,282.32 reduction to Joker Incorporated’s change order for the Phase 2 trail at Outbreak Park. The Commission also approved transferring 239 trustee properties through Preferred Land Title for $3,500, paid from the tax maintenance fund, after other title companies declined or did not express interest. Commissioners approved using the county’s on-call surveyor, Cochran, to clarify landfill boundaries, with the landfill expected to reimburse the cost, and authorized Autoagent to offer taxpayers optional installment payments for real estate and personal property taxes at no cost to the county.

The Commission authorized applications for a non-matching Missouri Blue Shield grant of $28,985.50 for the body-camera system, and a solid-waste grant seeking $65,000 for 2027 with a 25% match. It also approved applying for FEMA/SEMA hazard-mitigation assistance for hail-storm damage to county buildings, vehicles, and equipment; staff said federal reimbursement could cover 75% if the county qualifies. Commissioners approved public notice of planned construction at Kings Road Bridge. Other discussion included a temporary floodplain administrator appointment and departmental updates; no additional procurement awards were identified.
