07/13/2026 School Board Meeting

The Cameron R-III School District Board of Education held its regular meeting on July 13, 2026. The board approved bills as submitted and the June 2026 treasurer’s report, and amended the 2026–27 budget to include Funds 5 and 6. Members also approved three existing service agreements; staff noted a small rate increase and that the district had received only three bids. The board authorized sealed-bid sale of the completed property at 18 Silver Spur, with a $320,000 minimum bid and a $3,000 earnest check; bids are scheduled to open August 4. The board also approved posting three full-time substitute-teacher positions, with related salary costs to be allocated based on hiring, and approved continued MSBA and MARE memberships and policy-maintenance services.

The board adopted revised branding guidelines and a communications plan, and approved revisions to the district career ladder plan. Technology staff reported on prior-year security-camera upgrades, a districtwide Wi-Fi refresh, and classroom interactive panels, noting that two of the three major projects were grant-funded. Upcoming procurement activity includes FEMA-related requests for qualifications for construction testing and a general-contractor bid opening, both scheduled for August 4. No contract award for those projects was made at this meeting.
