The Pawtucket City Council and its committees met on August 6, 2026. The Claims and Pending Suits Committee recommended denying Christine King’s $250 pothole claim and referring her to the Pawtucket Water Supply Board; the Council later approved the recommendation. Ashley Mazuko’s $281.70 tire claim was recommended for and received approval. Claims from Brandon Dyson and William Samos were postponed indefinitely pending an estimate and withdrawn at the claimants’ request, respectively. The Council also asked Public Works to assess adding advance stop-sign warnings and pavement stop lines at several Rice Street intersections and report back. No contracts, RFPs, vendor selections, or spending allocations were identified.
Other business included a presentation on recruiting residents for a voluntary resilience task force, with the coordinator noting that potential foundation support for stipends was being explored. The Council and licensing board considered license matters, including approving outdoor seating and a business name change, continuing some license hearings, and imposing a $500 fine and one-day suspension in a licensing case. Appointments to the Riverfront Commission were confirmed. No procurement activity was identified.
