The Janesville Plan Commission meeting on October 5, 2026, included public-hearing scheduling and a request to extend a conditional use permit for a Crew Car Wash at 2328 Humes Road. The commission approved the extension, setting the new permit expiration date at November 3, 2027; the motion carried unanimously. The applicant’s representative said construction is planned to begin in spring 2027 and is expected to take about six months. Staff reported that several approval conditions had been completed, including recording stormwater and municipal easement agreements, registering the vacant building, arranging property maintenance, and removing an existing billboard sign.
The commission also scheduled October 19 public hearings for a comprehensive-plan future land use map amendment, rezoning property at 3301 and 3401 Sand Hill Drive from R1 to R3, and creation of Tax Incremental District No. 44, including its boundaries and project plan. An open house on the draft zoning map was announced for October 6. No government procurement, contract award, or purchasing action was identified; the car wash discussion concerned a private development permit.
