The City of Fairhope Planning Commission meeting, held October 5, 2026, addressed subdivision applications and a proposed planned unit development; no procurement activity, contract awards, or purchasing decisions were identified. The commission unanimously approved the Sibly Place minor subdivision (SD 26.17) subject to staff conditions, including recording the final plat within 120 days, and approved the Audi-related MOP (SD 26.18) and minor subdivision (SD 26.19) subject to staff recommendations. Staff described existing site infrastructure and a required retaining-wall adjustment to increase stormwater capacity for the Audi-area project.

The commission unanimously continued the Middle Street Estates replat (SD 26.20) to its November 2 meeting after residents raised longstanding drainage concerns and commissioners sought further information from city staff about drainage review. For the East Lake Village PUD (ZC 26.10), commissioners unanimously recommended approval to the City Council, with staff conditions and an added requirement that garages on front-loaded residential lots be set back 60 feet from the public street. Discussion covered the proposed mix of housing and commercial uses, hotel height, architectural and landscape standards, trails, traffic, utilities, and stormwater management; the recommendation is not a final zoning approval.
