The City of San Angelo Zoning Board of Adjustment met on October 5, 2026, to consider zoning variances and discuss land-use regulations. No procurement activity, contract awards, or spending decisions were identified. The board accepted withdrawal of a request for a rear-yard setback variance at 115 Chrysanthemum Street after the applicant indicated they could revise the patio-cover design to comply without a variance. A variance request for a carport at 3901 Ransom Road sought a 4-foot setback in place of 15 feet; the board’s motion to approve a 6-foot setback did not pass.

The board approved setback variances for a multifamily development after staff explained that the city had incorrectly advised the applicant about which setback standards applied, and construction had proceeded under the approved plans. Members also discussed possible future review of the comprehensive plan and land-development code, including setback rules for double-frontage lots, ranch-and-estate zoning, and the open-structure overlay. Those discussions were for future planning and direction; no code changes were adopted at this meeting.
