The Delaware County Board of Commissioners’ regular meeting on October 5, 2026, included several procurement and budget actions. The board approved purchase orders and warrants (Resolution 26-728) and a Sheriff’s Office appropriation transfer (26-730) to cover increased costs of transporting out-of-state prisoners for court hearings; no amounts were stated, and staff said they were exploring a grant to offset costs. The board also approved setting a bid date for the annual lease of 44 acres of county farmland beside the Lower Scioto Treatment Plant (26-733); the prior lease was $220 per acre, or just under $10,000 annually. An addendum to the county’s services agreement with Civic Uplift LLC for FY2026 Community Development Block Grant administration and grant consulting services was approved (26-734), with no contract amount stated. Five standard utility right-of-way permits were also approved.

MORPC reported that approximately $190 million in transportation investments were planned for Delaware County for fiscal years 2026–2029, and discussed regional support for projects including Orange Road and the I-71/US-36 interchange; no new funding or contract action was taken on those projects at this meeting. The board also approved a domestic violence awareness proclamation and a corrected subdivision plat. Public comment raised concerns about county-backed community-authority financing for development infrastructure and its effects on growth, maintenance costs, and farmland; no related action was taken.
