Augusta, Georgia Planning Commission meeting, October 6, 2026: Commissioners approved the September 2 minutes and considered land-use applications. They recommended approval of special exceptions for a private K–8 school at 2019 Roger Road, a daycare serving up to 80 children at 3550 Morgan Road, and adult daycare plus an after-school program at the former Terrace Manor Elementary School on Tate Road. The Tate Road applications were approved with a condition that youth enter and gather in the gym during the transition period to separate them from adult-program participants. These items were referred to the Augusta Commission for October 20 consideration.

The commission also approved a recommendation to rezone approximately 1.29 acres at 3482 Bulock Avenue from R1A to R1C for subdivision into two single-family lots, and approved a related subdivision variance. For approximately 2.3 acres at 3611 Wheeler Road, it recommended rezoning from agricultural to B2 and a companion special exception for a proposed 124-room extended-stay hotel; both items were referred to the full commission, with conditions including further site, tree-protection, and traffic-impact review. No procurement, contract awards, purchasing decisions, or budget allocations were identified.
