The SFSD labor-bargaining meeting with the educators’ association on August 19, 2026, addressed salary, benefits, work expectations, and contract terms. The parties tentatively agreed on several provisions, including administrative working-file rules (with an exception for documentation reportable to DHS or TSBC), staff input on new evening events, and a two-year term. Compensation proposals included a 2.75% cost-of-living increase for 2026–27, a 5% increase to the extra-duty salary schedule, and 2.75% increases to supervision and extended-contract rates; the parties also discussed insurance contributions, extracurricular stipends, and salary advancement. Article 5 remained dependent on a grant decision expected in January, while the parties continued work on remaining contract language.
The parties discussed classroom temperature and safety, including review of the district’s heat-illness prevention plan and a commitment to meet if external funding becomes available for heating and cooling deficiencies identified in the capital improvement plan. A new chiller was also noted as scheduled for the high school. These were not procurement approvals: the transcript identifies no contract award, vendor selection, bid approval, or purchasing authorization.
