🏗️ Construction & Infrastructure Grants & Funding

At its October 6, 2026 regular public meeting, the Washington County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved allocating $5,498,000 in Metro Affordable Housing Bond interest earnings to affordable housing developments. The allocation followed a review panel’s assessment of project risk and funding needs: recommendations included about $1.3 million for Planet Gardens, $1.55 million for Woodland Hearth, just under $2.4 million for Hartwood Commons, and the remaining funds for Aloha 209th. The funding is intended to address project cost or financing gaps and support development, rehabilitation, and financial stability. The board also legalized a portion of Northwest Timberman Road as County Road 3366; no spending amount was stated. Ordinance 918, concerning public land corner preservation, received a first reading and is scheduled to return for a public hearing.

The board voted to restore a proposed data-center resolution to its October 20 work session and October 27 meeting, allowing further review of proposed amendments before consideration; the resolution was not adopted at this meeting. Public commenters raised concerns about potential data-center impacts and asked for development safeguards. Other public testimony addressed Washington County’s tobacco and vape restrictions and election administration, but no related procurement decisions were identified.
