Body

Date

Jurisdiction

State & Local

The Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration met on October 12, 2026, to review preparations for the November general election. The board approved the agenda as presented after a motion to add discussion of an ADA audit and a “No Kings” march to the polls failed for lack of a second, and it approved the September 14 meeting minutes. The director reported that required deadlines were on schedule, logic and accuracy testing and advance-voting poll-pad testing were complete, and early voting would begin October 13 at 13 locations, six of which have drop boxes. The office had hired 1,574 Election Day poll workers and 20 workers per early-voting site, with recruitment and training continuing. The director also described a new state election-board requirement for a paper numbered voter list alongside electronic check-in and gave voter-registration and absentee-ballot updates.

Public comment and board discussion focused on election access, poll-worker guidance, ADA-accessibility review, voter-mobilization events, and ensuring voters can safely access polling places. The director said the office was coordinating with groups planning voter-mobilization activities and would provide the board and attorney an opportunity to review information before it was sent to Cobb Collaborative. The board also entered executive session to discuss pending and potential litigation. No procurement actions, contract awards, vendor selections, or spending approvals were identified.
