The City of Lacey Library Board met on October 15, 2026, and approved the agenda and prior meeting minutes. The board received an update on Timberland Regional Library’s 35-cent levy lid lift, which had been approved for the November 3 ballot. If passed, the levy is expected to support longer library hours, additional staffing, expanded collections, shorter wait times, and improved public spaces. If it fails, Lacey Library may close on Mondays. The report also described budget-related measures already underway, including staffing changes, furloughs, revised financial planning and transparency policies, and a newly hired finance administrator. No contracts, vendor selections, bids, or other procurement actions were identified.
The board also heard that summer reading club sign-ups increased 3% to 15,527, while physical checkouts declined and digital checkouts rose. Members welcomed a new youth representative and discussed community outreach and future board business. No spending-related votes or procurement action items were recorded.
