The City of Oregon City Citizen Involvement Committee met October 5, 2026. The committee heard that MIG is assisting the city with an ADA self-assessment and transition plan covering 13 public buildings, 28 parks, and the public right-of-way. The plan is expected to be completed for city commission adoption in June 2027. No contract value was stated. The presentation noted that ADA improvements have no dedicated federal funding and that the city will look for opportunities to incorporate barrier removal into capital improvement, renovation, and maintenance projects. The committee also received updates on a housing capacity analysis funded by a state grant and on planning code changes, including a geotechnical review process in which the city’s consultant fees are passed through to applicants; the consultant works under a capped time-and-materials contract.

Other funding and project updates included a planned city letter of support for the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde’s National Park Service grant application for the Riverwalk, with blocks 1 and 2 funded and the more complex blocks 3 and 4 still needing funding. A committee member reported that approximately $5,000 may be needed to rehabilitate the Singer Hill sign, with fundraising or grant support being explored. The city is also studying a revenue-neutral tiering of system development charges to reduce fees for smaller residential units while adjusting rates for larger homes. No procurement award or spending motion was identified; the only recorded vote was approval of the prior meeting’s minutes.
