The Beauregard Parish School Board’s Finance and Policy Committee meeting was held October 5, 2026. The finance presentation reported approximately $850,000 remaining from the 2023 bond program and progress on bond-funded projects. The final project to be bid under that program—the South Beauregard CTE auditorium upgrade—was expected to go out for bid in late November or December, or by January at the latest; the CTE auditorium and shop upgrades at DeRidder High had previously been approved for bidding. Under the 2025 bond program, East Beauregard projects were about 95% complete, with some work awaiting supplies, while Singer, Carah Hansen, and Thinwood renovations were being prepared for bidding. The annual bus budget was exceeded by $218,000 as bus prices rose from about $120,000 to $150,000; staff said they would return next month with a request to cover the shortfall from reserves or 2023 bond funds. The final FY2026 budget revision showed about $3 million added to reserves and an ending general fund balance of roughly $25 million.

The committee approved a motion to use the general fund reserve to provide the district’s usual stipends to all employees, including groups omitted from the state’s list; the estimated total cost was about $1.8 million. The discussion noted that $1.428 million in MFP funds had been withheld by the state and that the district could instead opt out, but the committee voted to fund the broader stipend payment. The Policy Committee also approved revisions concerning special-education due-process hearings, reporting suspected violations observed in special-education classroom recordings, and child-abuse and human-trafficking reporting requirements. No vendor selection or contract award was identified in the transcript.
