October Pre-Agenda Meeting

The October 5, 2026 pre-agenda meeting of the Burke County Board of Commissioners reviewed several upcoming public hearings and spending items; most were retained for consideration at the regular meeting, not finally approved. Procurement and infrastructure items included a proposed $925,000 purchase of replacement ZOLL EMS cardiac monitors, funded from savings after the animal services and EMS station project finished about $1.3 million under budget. The board also reviewed grant-funded proposals: a $15 million no-local-match CDBG-DR application for the Indian Hills wastewater pump station, a $300,000 state-grant contribution toward water and sewer infrastructure for the 25-home Clover Ridge development, a $450,000 state allocation toward a sheriff’s armored vehicle, and a $55,000 grant toward Motorola radio purchases. The sheriff said the armored vehicle would have an estimated two-year delivery lead time. These items remained on the relevant agendas; no spending approvals were taken at this meeting.
