The Aransas County Commissioners’ Court regular meeting was held October 12, 2026. The Court approved an agreement with Juicebox Interactive to develop and launch a new county website; no contract amount was stated, and the cost is to come from the responsible department’s budget. Planned features include public-notice and bid-opportunity postings, accessibility and translation options, and venue scheduling. The Court also approved an agreement for the beneficial use of dredged material, authorizing the county judge to execute it. The project is delayed until 2027 pending archaeological, historic-preservation, and other permits; officials said a couple of million dollars in GLO funds had been passed through the county to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the project.

The Court approved accounts payable and payroll liabilities, including $225,020 in vehicle purchases funded through an SB22 grant. It also approved issuing a notice to terminate the county’s storage lease at 644 East Market Street, which costs $2,000 per month. During review of the June treasurer’s report, a commissioner requested a breakdown of approximately $170,922 in downtown-anchor expenses; staff agreed to provide details. No amount was given for the website agreement or dredging project total.
