The Solon City Council meeting on October 5, 2026, included several pending financing and legal-services items. Ordinance 2026-149, authorizing up to $7.2 million in notes for improvements to recreational facilities, including Solon Community Park, and Ordinance 2026-150, authorizing up to $6 million in notes for property acquisition and site preparation for park and recreational uses, including the Norfolk Southern Headwaters Connector Trail, both remained on second reading; neither was approved at this meeting. Ordinance 2026-161, which would increase the amount authorized for Bricker Graydon Wyatt LLP’s ongoing special legal services related to redevelopment of the former Liberty Ford site and other economic-development initiatives, remained on first reading. No procurement awards or vendor selections were made.

The mayor announced the upcoming opening of the renovated Solon Community Park. A resident raised concerns about curb damage following the Highland Drive resurfacing project; the mayor said the city would arrange another review. Council also approved two property variance items, including a driveway-width and garage-apron variance. Public comments addressed proposed charter amendments concerning ward veto and zoning decisions, and a speaker advocated for a county developmental-disabilities levy; these discussions did not result in council procurement or spending actions.
