The West Irondequoit CSD Board of Education held a study session on October 1, 2026. The main procurement-related item was a first reading of change orders for the Promise Project. The proposed work includes a snow-melt system beneath Pine Grove sidewalks ($152,000), field irrigation and a water supply at Iroquois Middle School, and an upgraded video-capable scoreboard at the stadium. The district reported that the project remains approximately $2.8 million under its voter-approved budget. Board members requested fuller cost estimates—including the future boiler needed to operate the snow-melt system—as well as a scoreboard rendering and information about the existing flagpole and scoreboard platform. The board took no vote on the change orders; approval is anticipated at the October 15 meeting. Members were told that some work had already begun under the superintendent’s authority pending board approval.

The board also reviewed student achievement and attendance data, personnel items, proposed policy revisions, and resolutions for the state school boards association. No other procurement awards or purchasing decisions were identified. The facilities policy revision concerning wildlife on school grounds and the homeschooling policy revision were first readings; neither was adopted at this session.
