The SFSDOfficial School Board work session on September 28, 2026, discussed structural repairs at Robert Frost School. A preliminary estimate put replacement of the trusses on one side of the building at about $1.5 million, ideally coordinated with roof replacement; an earlier repair cost about $100,000 and was largely reimbursed by insurance. The district had not completed its review of the engineering report, and participants discussed building-safety and snow-load concerns, the possibility of applying for seismic funding, and whether to coordinate the work with HVAC improvements. The district typically sets aside $500,000 annually for capital projects, but would need additional funding for this project. Officials said they would seek three bids; no contract award or spending approval was made. Potential bond proceeds and other budget resources were discussed as possibilities, including depending on the November bond outcome.
The board also reviewed enrollment trends and a draft strategic plan focused on student achievement, student belonging, preparation for a changing world, and facilities and fiscal efficiency. These discussions included maintaining programs as enrollment changes, but no additional procurement actions were identified. The board approved the meeting agenda by vote.
