Board of County Commissioners Open Session October 8, 2026

The October 8, 2026, open session of the Carroll County Board of County Commissioners included several approved funding and purchasing items. The Board unanimously approved submission of the FY2027 Child Support Administration cooperative reimbursement agreement and acceptance of its award, with a budget of approximately $68,000 ($42,000 federal and $25,000 county share). It also approved applying for and accepting the FY2026 Family Self-Sufficiency Program renewal award; staff reported eligibility for $111,194.05, pending HUD approval. It also unanimously directed staff to schedule a public hearing on a proposed county code amendment to prohibit data centers in all zoning districts. Discussion included extending the existing deferral and defining data centers, including smaller facilities, but no final zoning amendment was adopted at this meeting. The agenda review also identified a future landscape architecture and engineering contract award for the Carroll County Sports Complex and a fire study RFP for upcoming meetings; neither was acted on during this session.
