The Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority (COPTA) board met October 2, 2026. The board approved several procurement and project items: a CAD Construction contract amendment decreasing the Embark administrative building renovation contract by $757.76, with final acceptance and a maintenance bond; a $5,884.37 increase to Midtown Construction’s downtown transit center restroom remodel contract; and a professional services agreement with Elite Protection Services for fair inspections and security guard services at an estimated $700,000 annually, following an RFP review. The board also approved a sole-source agreement with Genfare LLC for farebox equipment, parts, supplies, and services; the annual cost was garbled in the transcript. These motions passed.
The board approved a five-year agreement for two Amazon lockers at the Arts District garage. A resident objected that the agreement provides Amazon space without rent and could impose costs on the city, while staff said the battery-operated units would be funded and maintained by Amazon, with no expected cost to COPTA and possible revenue. The board also received financial and program reports, including notice that a purchase order had been issued for eight additional CNG buses and that two electric Ford Transit vans had arrived under a previously approved contract. Mobility staff announced a federal Section 5310 call for projects that may fund nonprofit vehicle purchases and maintenance, as well as sidewalk and paving improvements.
