The September 28, 2026 Boulder City Parks and Recreation Commission meeting included updates on several capital projects and facility improvements. The new gym floor has been resurfaced and relined; staff is seeking a quote to paint the walls and ordering replacement bleachers. The new pool project is about 95% through design, with design firm VCBO working with construction manager Core Construction toward a guaranteed maximum price expected around early November. Golf-course irrigation work is underway, with the front nine complete and the back nine in progress; completion is anticipated around December, with all 18 holes expected to reopen by January. Pickleball court lighting remains delayed by material lead times, with a key component expected November 9 and installation estimated to take about four weeks. Lake View Park is next in line for playground equipment and safety-surface upgrades.

The commission also reviewed resident recommendations and the five-year capital improvement program. Staff said capital projects generally involve $25,000 or more, and proposals are considered alongside requests from other departments and available funding before citywide prioritization. Bootleg Canyon zip-line arrangements with contractor Skull Canyon Zip Lines remain in progress, and staff is exploring volunteer-supported beginner and intermediate trails. The only recorded motion was approval of the July 27, 2026 meeting minutes; no procurement or spending vote was reported.
