The City of La Vergne Board of Mayor & Aldermen held a workshop on October 1, 2026, to review upcoming agenda items. Procurement discussions included a repair bid estimated at $37,555.35; ratification of an emergency Sourcewell purchase of 25 Dell computers due to an expected price increase; a $26,264 Hollandale sewer pump-station repair; annual state-contract purchases of road salt and a 2027 Ford Explorer; and a 2027 employee benefits package with a higher, unspecified cost. The board also reviewed a $21,000-plus change order with Mission Critical Partners for a La Vergne Police Department Microsoft 365 tenant migration, an $8,700 agreement with VeraSatrun for moving police applications to the vendor’s online environment, and a proposed modification to Wal Architects’ fire-station renovation services agreement. Furniture for phase two of the Public Works and Community building project would be purchased through Sourcewell via HighTouch; staff was asked to add a not-to-exceed amount. The Walron Road widening item included an approximately $12,110 increase tied to a survey correction. The workshop transcript does not show final votes on these items; several were scheduled for consideration at the regular meeting.

The board discussed a proposed rezoning of about 50.65 acres on Old Nashville Highway from R2 to R3 high-density residential. A resident and several board members raised concerns about traffic, road and school capacity, infrastructure costs, and the city’s potential financial contribution; a public hearing was scheduled for October 6, and no rezoning vote occurred at this workshop. The board also reviewed a resolution to dispose of a police substation trailer and damaged wash pump through GovDeals. Other discussion covered ongoing police and city network restoration, with full restoration anticipated before year-end if work proceeds as planned.
