🏗️ Construction & Infrastructure 🚨 Public Safety Physical Infrastructure Grants & Funding

At its October 1, 2026 public meeting, the Lewis and Clark County Commission unanimously approved a $160,000 grant application for the Sheriff’s Office Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team to support training and equipment; the grant is federally funded through FEMA and administered by the state, with no county match identified. Commissioners also approved an Emergency Management Performance Grant application for $44,620, which requires an equal match, and Amendment 4 to the county’s grant contract with Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services for the HART program. The HART amendment supports behavioral-health and related services for people in the detention center; its amount was not stated, and staff said the funding was included in the approved budget.

The commission unanimously approved Task Order R101 with Great West Engineering, not to exceed $54,200, for final design and bidding assistance for the Eastgate Approaches Stormwater project, funded from the Public Works road budget. It also approved a contract with Grounds Guys of Helena, not to exceed $10,000, for overseeding at the Grizzly Gulch reclamation site, funded by a DNRC grant and a forfeited reclamation bond. Consent items—including a resolution declaring county property surplus—were also approved. No other procurement actions or public comments were identified.
