The City of Boynton Beach’s virtual agenda review workshop on October 1, 2026, covered upcoming commission agenda items, including procurement and budget matters. Staff reported that the State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP/CHIP) program spent $1,068,160 during its 2023–2026 cycle on housing rehabilitation, purchase assistance, emergency repairs, and rapid rehousing; total spending with leveraged funds was $2,360,144, including $694,000 from CDBG. A commissioner requested a public-facing summary showing how many residents and homes benefited. Staff also reviewed a preliminary $49 million capital and CPI purchase-order rollover, mostly in utilities, to continue projects into fiscal year 2027; final amounts and budget amendments are expected to return for commission approval in November.
Procurement items included an award to four vendors for brass and pipe fittings and related supplies, with spending capped at $750,000 per year under a three-year contract with two one-year renewal options; and a single-source, $150,000 agreement with Star Controls for SCADA system support and professional services, for three years with two one-year renewal options. The agenda also included renewals for HARA Property Registry LLC, a four-firm professional surveying and mapping rotation (Abram and Associates, Caulfield and Wheeler, Ingenuity Group, and Winden Survey and Mapping), and Bollard Partners for state lobbying services through September 30, 2027. Other discussions covered an interlocal agreement for artwork on traffic-control boxes, a development-order lighting change, license-plate-reader privacy concerns, and a land-use amendment. No votes were taken during the agenda review; the items were being prepared for commission consideration.
