The Yamhill County Board of Commissioners’ formal session on October 1, 2026, included facilities updates and several agreement approvals. Facilities staff reported completed and ongoing work in the Government Services Building, including new office and lobby spaces and HVAC controls nearing completion. Upcoming capital work includes courthouse improvements, a new grand jury space, an ADA entrance, and safety projects at the jail; no costs or contract awards for these projects were stated. The board unanimously approved Amendment No. 3 to the county’s agreement with DPI Security Inc., extending it through June 30, 2027, and adding $78,464.57, for a total not-to-exceed amount of $239,739.77. It also approved another agreement with annual auto-renewals, an Amendment No. 3 to an agreement with Summit, and an intergovernmental agreement with the cities of Amity and Yamhill for use of CDBG funding outside city limits; the transcript does not provide further terms for the first two agreements.

In commissioner announcements, a board member reported that the Chehalem Park and Recreation District was expected to receive close to $1 million for rehabilitation of the Bonnie Benedict preschool/community-center facility. This was reported as an external grant matter, not a county board award in this session. The board also heard a proposal to discuss future changes to dog-control licensing and shelter requirements, but took no action on it. A county road-vacation-code ordinance received a first reading, with a second reading planned for a later meeting.
