The Barnstable Airport Commission meeting on September 29, 2026, addressed airport fuel agreements, lease solicitations, parking operations, and safety-related capital needs. The commission approved an annual fuel-discount agreement with Everest Fuel Management; staff said it would add 400,001 gallons to the program, bringing the increase from the Everest and previously approved Mercury agreements to about 700,000 gallons. Members also discussed World Fuelโs role in maintaining fuel supplies during two summer incidents. The lease RFP for 211 Airport Road must be reissued after the requested parcel area was found to conflict with procurement rules. Staff also discussed a possible new RFP for automated parking equipment and a shorter-term parking arrangement, but no decision or vote on that proposal was reported.
The commission reviewed the FAA Part 139 inspection findings and corrective work, including runway and taxiway lighting, markings, and signage; replacement signs were expected in October. Staff said a broader Taxiway Bravo rehabilitation was planned for FY2028, with electrical work potentially costing tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. The commission also received updates on outstanding vendor payments for Cape Air hangar fire-suppression work while insurance proceeds were being processed, and on TSA reimbursement for airport police costs. No procurement award or spending vote on those items was reported.
