The City of West Linn Parks and Recreation Advisory Board met on October 8, 2026. The board discussed the area affected by the ODOT project near West Bridge Park and possible future park uses, including river access and retaining a newly built driveway for potential parking. Members raised concerns about contractor QIT’s work and ODOT’s ability to manage the project; the city representative said ODOT appeared to be committed to its current arrangement and that a new RFP or contract was not confirmed. ODOT was reportedly preparing to impose a $72,000-per-day fine. The project is expected to finish in summer 2027. No contract award or procurement vote was reported.

The board also discussed an ash-tree inventory and Emerald Ash Borer preparations, with possible treatment and replacement plans to be developed after inventory and coordination with Public Works and relevant agencies. A state grant for ash-tree work is closed for the year and expected to reopen in mid-2027. Other updates included electrical work near a volleyball court, a non-motorized boat-launch project described as a year behind schedule, and recreation programming; no new spending approvals were identified. The agenda and prior meeting notes were approved, and the board agreed to review outreach materials and send feedback to staff.
