The New Canaan Board of Education’s regular meeting on October 5, 2026, included public comments calling for clearer, age-appropriate limits and guidance on classroom technology and screen use, and for a technology audit. The board took no action on those issues. School leaders presented the high school’s assessment results, including SAT, AP, science, math, social studies, and college-admissions data; the board also previewed an assessment report for grades 3–8 at its next meeting. A public commenter raised the long-standing placement of fifth graders in the middle school and concerns about enrollment projections and school structure.

The board unanimously approved a late-arriving $22,140 donation from the New Canaan High School PFA for 19 student activity funds, including the Angel Fund, awards and school events, academic enrichment, and conference entry fees. No contracts, vendor selections, bids, or other procurement actions were identified.
