The Jersey City Planning Board meeting on September 29, 2026 considered site-plan applications, extensions, redevelopment designations, and the city’s transportation master plan. No procurements, contract awards, bid approvals, or vendor selections were identified. The board unanimously approved one-year site-plan extensions for 381 Route 440 and 535 Montgomery Street, subject to prior approval conditions. It approved the 292 Van Horn Street project, including a landscaping variance, by a 5–1 vote after hearing neighborhood concerns. Other site-plan approvals included 26 Bright Street (5 in favor, 1 abstention), 300 Central Avenue, and 146 Academy Street. The 33 Division Street proposal for an eight-story, 115-unit building with retail and approximately 85–86 parking spaces was also approved unanimously; the applicant’s plan includes a $1.68 million contribution to Enos Jones Park improvements under the redevelopment plan.

The board unanimously recommended that City Council adopt the “Let’s Move JC” Transportation Master Plan, which outlines transportation and street-safety improvements, greenways, parking and curb-management changes, and coordination with regional agencies. The plan also discusses possible developer requirements to help fund transportation improvements, a consideration that could affect future development activity. The board separately made a favorable recommendation to City Council to designate seven vacant or deteriorated properties as a scattered-site area in need of redevelopment, with condemnation authority; the final designation is for City Council to decide.
