The Lincoln County School District Board’s July 14, 2026, regular business meeting included several procurement and property matters. The board voted 4–0 to authorize the superintendent or designee to prepare district-owned property at 459 Southwest Coast Highway in Newport for sale, including obtaining appraisals, hiring a real estate agent, and making necessary repairs before listing it. Staff also reported that the Toledo Junior/Senior High helical-pier work had received three bids; the other two contractors could not meet the schedule. No board action was required because the work was below the approval threshold. The board was briefed on a state grant that would provide $2 million toward each of three auditorium projects; the grant agreement, covering $6 million total, is expected to come to the board for approval in August. The stated $40 million project budget covers construction only, not pre-construction costs.

A Brown & Brown representative reviewed the district’s insurance renewal, which was already in effect and budgeted, so no vote was taken. District PACE coverage increased about 8.6%, below the Oregon school-district average of 9.5%; standalone cyber coverage renewed at a flat premium of $24,562 including fees, and workers’ compensation costs fell by nearly $22,000. The representative also noted that an employment-practices toolkit saves the district more than $10,000. The board considered the 2026–28 bargaining agreement with Oregon School Employees Association Chapter 19, but the transcript does not capture a vote on it.
