At its September 14, 2026 Board of Directors meeting, the Sherwood School District discussed summer facilities work and the possible future use of pension obligation bonds. Facilities updates included replacement of the Archer Glenn playground with accessibility features, a new turf play space at Middleton supported by its PAC, improvements at Hawk View and Ridges, and preparation for the Bowman House CTE project. The Bowman House program also received a competitive statewide grant for tools. No new construction contract awards or vendor selections were reported. The CFO reviewed the district’s PERS side accounts, which are expected to expire in December 2027; the district previously saved about $7.5 million through the accounts and anticipates a one-time impact of about $1 million in fiscal year 2027–28. The board supported learning more about a potential pooled pension obligation bond but made no borrowing commitment; a work session with financial advisers was planned for October 12, with a possible resolution for consideration on November 16. The board also passed the consent agenda, 4–0.
