📚 Education Grants & Funding

The September 15, 2026 regular board meeting of Woodburn Media included reports on summer learning and district teaching and learning priorities. Staff reported that 613 students attended the summer learning program, which was funded through a grant with funding levels known for the next two years; 257 students attended at least 80% of the program, and 89% of those students demonstrated reading growth. The district used Frontline to contract substitutes for the program for the first time and said it plans to continue that partnership. After-school club also received a grant that reduced costs for participating families. No contract award amounts or other purchasing approvals were reported.

The board adopted the 2026–27 school visit schedule as presented by a 4–0 vote. Members discussed district performance goals, curriculum review and community engagement; staff noted that state standards and supporting materials are typically reviewed on an approximately seven-year cycle. Following an executive session, the board voted 4–0 to deny an appeal-review request and delegate authority to the board chair to respond. No other procurement actions were identified.
