The City of Frederick’s Hill Street Skate Park community design meeting was held September 29, 2026. Grind Line Skate Parks presented a revised skate park concept incorporating feedback from the prior meeting: the half bowl was removed, more banks were added while retaining some quarter pipes, and new manual pads, ledges, and a revised feature combination were included. Attendees discussed the key-shaped feature, obstacle heights and spacing, bowl coping, lighting, shade, and storage. The designers said they would consider the comments and make feasible refinements; no vote, contract award, or specific spending authorization was reported, and no dollar amount was provided.

Next steps are to finalize the concept and prepare construction documents, with 50%, 90%, and final submissions anticipated over the winter. Construction could begin in spring, subject to City approval, schedule, and weather. The meeting also noted related park improvements, including a pump track, pavilions, renovated soccer fields, and an expanded path network. No procurement action was approved at this meeting.
