Council also approved a $146,683 capital-budget transfer from LED streetlight upgrades to street resurfacing. Other procurement-related items included final approval of a Dayforce human-capital-management contract increase of $677,790, bringing its 12-year total to no more than $6,218,540, and acceptance of an $8,399 AED cabinet donation. A proposed $1 million grant application to help purchase a pumper fire truck and a $4,491 mattress donation for Fire Station 8 were presented; the transcript does not establish final approval of the grant application. A legal-services contract amendment for up to $150,000 was reported in committee, but its final disposition is unclear in the transcript.
Council also approved a resolution supporting Allegheny County’s paid parental leave proposal and calling for statewide action, and proclaimed Week Without Driving. During discussion of city surveillance technology, a council member called for stronger controls over access to contracted technologies and management of collected data; no related action was taken. Public commenters opposed the closure of the Roots service facility and raised other community concerns. The meeting transcript does not indicate a procurement decision concerning Roots.
