The Oklahoma City Economic Development Trust met on September 29, 2026, and approved the prior meeting minutes and August claims. The Trust approved up to $1 million in GO bond funds for University of Oklahoma health research hiring and expansion tied to approximately 520 jobs; the university described a broader investment of more than $400 million in faculty, facilities, and research support. It also approved $2.825 million for the 215-unit Atoria Creek affordable housing project, using affordable-housing GO bond funds to advance costs that will be repaid from South Oklahoma City TIF revenues. A separate resolution approved up to $4 million in GO bond funds as temporary financing for a pedestrian bridge near I-35 and Lincoln Boulevard; the funds are expected to be reimbursed after a 2027 bond sale. The bridge has a reported $17 million grant and is associated with the I-35 bridge replacement project.
The Trust approved film incentive applications and economic development agreements, including a performance-based agreement of up to $69,385 for the Long Table television series. It approved a $26,577.50 increase to the Sasaki downtown strategic-planning services agreement, funded by Planning Department funds rather than additional Trust contributions, and a new fiscal-year 2026–27 agreement with the Alliance for Economic Development capped at $937,660. United Petroleum Transports’ downtown headquarters agreement included a proposed $400,000 allocation, divided between relocating 75 existing employees and adding up to 100 positions. The Trust also considered support of up to $750,000 in TIF 2 excess funds for the MyDefence drone-detection company’s building rehabilitation, part of a $9.6 million private investment. In the financial update, staff noted soccer-stadium encumbrances of $10 million from TIF 13 and $20 million from TIF 2. Motions on the reported items passed; the transcript does not preserve all project amounts or vote details clearly.
