Barnstable Board of Health meeting, September 29, 2026. The board approved several public-health and wastewater-related applications. It approved a temporary food event with five food trucks and food tents; septic-system variances for 9994 Main Street, conditioned on a three-bedroom deed restriction and revised plans, and 108 Bay Road, conditioned on updated site and nitrogen-loading plans showing a level at or below five parts per million; and effluent-filter alternatives for ADUs at 101 Marshope Avenue and 22 Kilway, with operation-and-maintenance requirements and a three-bedroom restriction for the latter. It also approved a grease-trap request for a planned cinema and live-entertainment venue, allowing two 4,000-gallon tanks in series in place of one 8,000-gallon tank. The recorded votes on these items were unanimous among the three participating members.

The board received a supermarket pest-management update: the business described its transition to Rentokil, exclusion and monitoring work, and increased service, and agreed to continue biweekly updates to health staff and report back to the board in about three months. Members also discussed ways to share information with food businesses about Massachusetts food-waste disposal bans and recycling assistance; no requirement or new program adoption was decided. No contract award, competitive procurement, or spending allocation was identified; the vendor and contractor references concerned ongoing pest-control and building work rather than a procurement decision.
